A girl walks through the forest
Walking alone through the night
She stumbles over branches and roots
She is blind
She is crying, she is calling out a name
As her tears flow she calls her lovers name
Then the clouds part unveiling Mrs Moon
She feels the warmth on her face
Mrs Moon looks down on a quiet earth
Only disturbed by the girl´s cries

Girl why do you cry?
Why do you walk alone in the night?
Girl are you blind?
My god! What happened to your eyes?
You´re bleeding child
Tell me now who did this evil deed
Oh mother Moon it was the old oak tree
He took my eyes when he heard my song of my love
As I gazed into his face the oak took my sight away
As we strolled through the trees he tore me away from my love
He took me into the shadows away from my love
And now I cannot find him
I heard him call my name
I heard him call my name for hours

Up to the north there walks a boy
Calling the name of his love
Of his love
He walks on the edge of the forest
not knowing her alive or dead
The desperation tears his voice
But he sees mother moon high in the sky
He whispers a silent prayer for her mercy tonight

Oh! Mother Moon can you help me?
My love is lost in the darkness
Let me find her trail I know she needs me
Let me find her soon I can feel her suffering
At least let me see her eyes again, let me taste her lips
If not alive then as a beautiful ghost


Oh! Hear my prayer
Mother Moon are you there?
Son, I hear your prayer
You are near

So the boy runs south as fast as the trees allow
The branches cuts his face, the thorns tears his legs
And tears begins to drip into his blood
And his heart begins to break
Oh please let it not be to late!

And Mother Moon opens up her light
Guides him through the darkness
Then he hears her cries and he screams her name
With the last of his strength he kneels besides her

As she lay there
He takes her hand
As she fades
He kisses her lips
As she cries
He pulls her to his chest
As she dies
He hears the love in her last breath

Now she is a silvery ghost, a fairy dancing in the moonlight
Now he is a shadow, death walking in moonlight
And the forest hears his dreadful oath
The oak runs through the moonlight
And Mother Moon weeps for her daughter and son
The forest weeps in the moonlight
