Walking down a dark road
Tired and trembling from the cold
Alone in this world

At the side of the road there laid a man

His hood stained by blood

“Greetings my friend, are you alive?

The stranger raised his head
His eyes pierced my soul
My legs failed me
I grasped for breath

With the sweetest voice he spoke

“Brother, where am I?
Where are my friends?
I am so cold and my memory is gray”
“Come take my hand, let us take
this road to a warmer place
Tell me your tale along the way"

And the star burned bright

Walking An Endless Night

We entered a village
Two strangers stalking their dawn
Careful eyes watching us
Greeted by a scream
A young woman in pain
A broken arm but by his touch
the girls tears turned to laugh
She was healed
Stunned we stared at his hands

A pale golden light
He just smiled

He raved the tavern with stories
of heroes, deeds of love and every
legend known to man
Here seemed to be a king among us
Not this beggar but more than anyone could know

Then another cry for help
A desperate man, his son lying at the end
The stranger stayed with the boy for hours
By his whispers the boy did rise

Words eluded me
With a broken voice I managed
“Stranger, who are you?"
His smile vanished
“I am... "

The stranger cast off his worn hood
We all fell silent to our knees
“But how?"
“My friend, I do not know"
He seemed so old

"I cannot remember the way
Only the past and price this world paid
Will you come with me?
I need to find my friends"
We walked into a world less grey

The Strangers Face So Bright
This World Will Know
The End To This Endless Night

We traveled far
To where every pain could be stilled
His healing hands shone bright
The star seemed so fierce
There were so many in need
My mind was stunned
I just could not believe
It seemed own eyes lied to me

Beneath a cold nights caress
By the warm fires embrace
A dark thought formed
A question piercing my mind
"My friend, only you can answer
Please tell me, tell this world”

“Why all the pain?
All the despair?
The wars and death?
Why all the hurt?
His eyes drew a shadow
His voice the whisper of grief
“I cannot know
I am just man”

"But your name has killed millions
Your love has become hate
All this suffering was it only in vain?
Your sacrifice? What did it bring?
Are we here just to die as you once did?"

“I was never the answer
It had to come from within you
I was just a picture
A mirror to your doom
Why do you speak of this?"
“Follow me, I will show you”

We traveled east to the suffering
To where all creed is the offering
Where there is no end to the fighting
A city fiercely burning
"This is your name
This is hate
We are children
Still born of war
We are death
Stillborn pawns
There must be more to this life"

His eyes grew darker
I saw his soul scream
But I kept on
So much senseless butchery
War after war
Cities wrecked by man
I pressed on questioning the all

There he laid
Just one last whisper
"My friend I forgive"
And then there was a stone
Now that beautiful star is gone
And I wonder from what darkness
My mind spoke

Why did I bring him suffering?
Every night I´m damned
To scream at this dream
I took him from us
I´m cursed with eternity
Now I search for peace
