A dark vessel drifting slowly

Hunched over seemingly unaware of the world

I am drifting further away
And blood covers his hands

For a lifetime he´s driven the stake into his own heart

Deeper, slower, the stake pierces his heart
The wound burning hotter, his soul´s turning colder
As the stake drains his life

Something beckons in the haze
For so long he's been wandering
Trying to evade his loss
A long road of untold answers
He came upon a waterfall
Eternally wild and deep
Here he could not feel the cold
Such a soothing stream
He laid to rest beside its warmth
Just a dream
Her warmth gone
Faded
A shroud of snow
He still feel the piercing crystals
So he leaves to wander the void
Here the sun seemed not so dim
Here the memories felt less scarring
Here he could close his eyes
Here darkness was fading
But he knew it was only a dream
He knew that winter would never recede
For behind him there blew a bitter wind
The shade of the past that would never leave him
Eternally wild and deep
